SKELETON GORGE & DEVILS PEAK HIKE - 2 DAYS
Our two day Table Mountain overnight trail starts with a hike up Table Mountain via Skeleton Gorge. This route is shaded & starts in magnificent Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
As you walk up Table Mountain the view is East over the city & False Bay. Once on the table you’ll hike to the highest point – MacClears beacon & descend either by Cable Car or back down the ravine perhaps having a stop for coffee at the restaurant on top of Table mountain. If time permits you’ll have the opportunity to amble through the immaculate Kirstenbosch Gardens.
The evening is an opportunity to relax & enjoy Cape Town hospitality, excellent meals and perhaps some fine wine.
The following day The Devils peak trail starts in Newlands forest. This is the peak that stands to the left of Table Mountain (looking from the Waterfront…). Although close to Table mountain, the 360 degree panorama of Table Mountain, Table Bay & False Bay is unique and quite different from what was experienced on the previous day.
Legend has it that the mountains name comes from a fierce smoking competition between the Devil and a pirate and often the clouds swirling around the peaks do look rather formidable.
TABLE MOUNTAIN & 12 APOSTLES HIKE - 2 DAYS
We offer a two day overnight hiking trail in Cape Town that explores the Western side of Table Mountain Where the Atlantic ocean splashes against the white sand on the famous beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay.
On the first day we guide you up Table Mountain via Kasteelspoort. This trail accesses 3 sides of Table Mountain and gives you splendid views of Lionshead and Camps bay while traversing through fynbos and winding up the scenic Kasteelspoort gorge. Don’t miss the photo opportunity on the “diving board” on the way up. After hiking to MacClears Beacon, the highest point on Table mountain we can stop for a coffee or perhaps one of the famous Table Mountain Hot chocolates at the restaurant, before descending via the Cable car or Platteklip Gorge.
After a peaceful night in one of Cape Town’s excellent lodges we hike along the Twelve Apostles, this section of the mountains runs parallel to the Atlantic Seaboard and depending on conditions we hike above or below the peaks, either way the views over Camps Bay all the way down to Llundudno are magnificent. Towards the end of the hike your views back toward Cape Town City and over picturesque Hout Bay are excellent.
